02-13 - Online: Outside with an Outdoor Educator - Sean McCammon, Waterloo Moraine, Grand River Watershed 03/13/21

G-day and welcome to the Pandemy Show. Thanks for joining us as we unite humanity through stories of hope, connection, and community in the face of the global pandemy. Dave transcends time and space to talk with Sean McCammon on the Waterloo Moraine in Kitchener, Ontario. Sean shares how he has been working with his squad to teach outdoor education virtually.  Sean and the nature squad have been running virtual bird counts, monster tree hunts, and milk week hunts for butterflies. He shares what it’s like to released his new book, Outside, during the pandemy.  Many years ago Sean made friends to last a life time working at a camp for campers with diabetes.  They recently had a virtual bon fire and Sean said it was a shocker how positive the experience was. Connecting with nature, especially during the pandemy is key. Too many of us suffer from nature deficit disorder. Nurture nature!
