About The Pandemy Show
Your Host: Dave
On a hot evening in July, as DJ Tomadore64 was mixing music with the sounds of the Portland Oregon Protests, and then an old, dried, long-dead cottonwood tree started cracking in the heat. This moment inspired me to turn my pandemic malaise and feelings of isolation into a creative project.
As I stared up at the old, weathered, barkless cottonwood, I realized I needed to talk and connect with people.
Others must be feeling the same way that I was, craving connection, seeking self-expression, wanting to transform this uncertain reality into something positive. I decided to use the arts to combat my malaise and dedicated myself to creating this podcast.
Thus the origin of the Pandemy Show.
I started interviewing people from around the world, reaching out to old contacts, finding new ones and looking for interesting stories of people’s experiences of the Pandemy from around the world. I partnered with my friend Angus, (who once beat me at an international beer drinking contest for charity), he agreed to help. And I reached out to my friend Bridget, founder of the podcast Interviews with Exes, and together the dream of the Pandemy Show became reality.
